High speed burner is a burner with high combustion product ejection speed. Compared with ordinary burner, it has the following differences:

design feature

The fuel in the front half of the combustion chamber or combustion tunnel basically reaches complete combustion. The combustion chamber is sealed and maintained at a sufficiently high pressure to ensure that the high-temperature combustion products can be ejected at high speed. In addition, the cross-sectional area of the gas passage inside some high-speed burner gas pipes varies, which can control the flow rate of gas within the pipe, and the gas pipe ends with a constricted gas nozzle.

Performance features

Jet speed: high temperature combustion products are ejected at a high speed of 100-300m/s, while the jet speed of general low-speed burner is lower, usually only a few meters to dozens of meters/second.

Temperature uniformity of the furnace: high speed gas flow can promote the strong circulation of furnace gas, greatly strengthen the heat transfer by convection in the furnace, so that the temperature of the furnace is more uniform; low speed burner may be relatively poor in the temperature uniformity of the furnace.

Heating speed: due to the enhancement of heat transfer by convection in the furnace, high-speed burner heating is faster.

Flame radiation capability: the flame radiation capability of high speed burner is weak; the flame radiation capability of low speed burner may be relatively strong.

Noise: the noise is large when the high speed burner works; the noise is relatively small when the low speed burner works.

Characteristics of operating parameters

Air and gas pressure: in order to obtain a higher injection speed, the initial pressure of gas and air must be kept above 2500Pa. For low-pressure high-speed burner, the gas pressure in front of the burner is between 1000Pa and 5000Pa, and the air pressure is between 2000Pa and 6000Pa; the pressure requirement for low-speed burner is usually not so high.

Excess air coefficient and adjustment range: the atmosphere in the furnace is easy to adjust to reducing or oxidizing, it can work at a higher excess coefficient, the adjustable ratio can be up to 1:10; low speed burner may behave differently in these aspects.

Combustion air preheating temperature: high temperature preheated air can be used, the combustion air preheating temperature can reach 100-500, energy saving effect is significant; low speed burner may not be as good as high speed burner in combustion air preheating and energy saving.

Adjustment ratio: the high speed burner has a large adjustment ratio, up to 1:50, while the general burner is about 1:10.

Application: High speed burner is suitable for the occasions that require rapid heating and uniform temperature distribution, such as continuous heating furnace, annealing furnace, etc. Low speed burner is suitable for the occasions that require lower air pressure and quieter working environment.

To sum up, there are obvious differences between high speed burner and low speed burner in many aspects, which determine their applicability and performance in different industrial fields.
